Trace Plant Designer is a set of modules build upon a consistent information system allowing :

 The conception of process & instrumentation diagrams (P&ID) and the management of their technical data.
 The design of virtual 3D models.
 The realisation of isometrics.
 The management of the bills of material and data sheets

Trace Plant Designer is the ultimate result of the Trace Software's knowledge in implementing 3D, SQL databases, Intranet/Internet and Object Oriented solutions for CAD software.
Trace Plant Designer - the new reference in Piping for AutoCAD - is an invest for your future build with the most recent technologies.
 Client/Server architecture : Allowing you to deal with simultaneous modifications in a multi-users environment and to update at real-time your diagrams according to actions made by other users or changes in the project configuration.

 ObjectARX development : In order to increase speed and features and to get the best from the AutoCAD kernel, the various graphical functions take advantage of ObjectARX - the Object Oriented API from Autodesk - such the block insertion assistant or the automatic and reactive automatic line-break and un-break.

 Component Object Model (COM) helps in customisation : Based on Microsoft's COM technology, Trace Plant Designer can be adapted to your specific needs. The Technical Data Manager component allows you to access and retrieve ALL the data - locally or remotely - stored anywhere in your company. It also permit to manage and define any calculated or logical rule between data. Another component gives you an opportunity to connect our project manager to any PDM software used in your company.

Trace Plant Designer P&ID, description

Offering advanced graphic functions, this software decreases the time spent to conceive piping networks, to define piping parts (Valves, flanges, fittings, …) and specific material used in any industrial processes (Pumps and compressors, vessels, heat exchangers, furnaces, air-coolers, instrumentation and control process, ...).
Lien inter-schémasConnected to a SQL database opened to your own needs and driven by a propagation function that works in a multi-drawing scheme, Trace Plant Designer P&ID offers you a consistency checking of input data, a control of fluid directions and an automatic completion of omitted data as well as a From-To detection of line connections.
Working like a spreadsheet dedicated to your technical data management, Trace Plant Designer P&ID, help of its open architecture, allows you to create your own application (Specific computations, selection of information in your own enterprise databases linked to input values, …)
This modern software is delivered with an integrated PDM allowing you to navigate between different customers, projects and/or different areas of your company. Its Client/Server architecture allows you to work concurrently on a project and to actualise at real time the result of the propagation feature, of the inter-drawing arrows, or any modification on the block library made by any other user running this software.

A multi-standard product : Trace Plant Designer P&ID is delivered with both ANSI or NF symbols (DIN coming soon)
A multi-language software : In order to be able to print the technical lists in different languages for international contracts, Trace Plant Designer P&ID is naturally multi-language. It handles, for any technical field, most of the various European languages, independently of the interface language.

 Major functionalities
Building your diagrams

Trace Plant Designer has been developed on the basis of a very intuitive Human/Machine interface in order to increase your productivity. Its ease-of-use in usual tasks is evident after a few minutes of work. Some details - as ordering symbols by frequency of use or implementing Drag & Drop in many ways - demonstrates the special attention given to the user's work simplification.

Blocks and Symbols
Conceiving and drawing your diagrams is highly assisted, graphic objects you have to deal with are "fair", their comportment is controlled by the program.

Block insertion :
Inserting a block is a dynamic, Drag & Drop and fair feature; the block is automatically aligned with the line below it. You can change the fluid direction by a simple right-click by changing the X-axis and Y-axis mirrors.

Automatic line-break :
Instant graphic actualisation of a circuit when you add, delete or move a block using any AutoCAD way.

Vessel/Tank/Furnace definition :
Description of such items has been made particularly easy by selecting graphic components. Further insertions of these parts and their nozzles are really fast and powerful.

Circuit elaboration

The same approach in power and quality stands for circuit definition :
Process lines hierarchy (Major, minor, utilities,…).
Fair reactive line-break at circuit intersections.
Fluid direction control, detection of FROM/TO connections and data propagation.
Trace Plant Designer helps to make consistent P&IDs by controlling input data against others and by propagating them along a complete circuit, including from or to another diagram.

Project management

- To define your users' roles and to grant them various access rights.
- To access your documents across a tree-structure in which you can get : external documents such spreadsheets or word processor ones and integration to a PDM software already in usage in your company

The restricted access by login ensures the confidentiality of your data and helps in controlling special actions such "Increasing Revision", "Closing a Revision", "Archiving a project", "Approbation", "Creation of new blocks", etc…

Trace Plant Designer can be easily connected to your PDM or ERP software.

The tree-view of the various documents belonging to a project gives you an easy and natural way to access to any information. You can store documents of any kind (Word, Excel, etc…), a real advantage when archiving or transmitting a project to your sub-contractors.

Technical data management

Trace Plant Designer has been conceived to give you easy connections to other data sources used in your company and to be able to link external information with our own technical database.

With Trace Plant Designer, the reference in Plant Design for AutoCAD, you can now import projects designed with AutoPLANT © and convert them into Trace Plant Designer projects.
Further than getting drawings and symbols from AutoPLANT ©, Trace Plant Designer also imports complete database information: line tag, pipe diameter, equipment technical data...
